Unfinished Men

Strength always comes from men. Families and nations are only as strong as their men. Considering the number of rape cases and 'run-away' dads, one would not be honest to say ours is the strongest nation. The number of children growing up under single parents, because their fathers ran away is alarming.

Their reasons for running away are usually a cover-up for the evasion of responsibility. The ability to procreate is not necessarily the evidence of manhood. In truth, they are rootless, selfish, conniving men who manipulate everything for their own benefit.

Where does this leave our boys, since masculinity is bestowed? A boy learns who he is and what he is made of from a man, or a company of men. This can’t be learnt in any other place. It can’t be learned from other boys, and it can’t be learned from the world of women. The plan from the beginning of time was that a father would lay the foundation for a young boy’s heart, and pass to him that essential knowledge and confidence in his strength.

Dad would be the first man in his life, and forever the most important man. His primary guideline for identity. In the absence of a father, the mother takes the responsibility. And this has the potential to produce uninitiated men, partial men, boys mostly walking around in men's bodies, unable to live as men in whatever life throws at them and also unable to pass on to their sons what they need to become whole in themselves.

The cycle then starts over again… But there’s hope! Homer Simpson! Just kidding it starts with us.
