Complex Beings

We are more complex
Than just sexual beings
Stuck at cross roads
Where we deal with
Complexities, complexions
Faces of different races
Failing to mention the reasons of fearing inter-sexions
Of our time in existence

I want him tall and toned,
Bold and handsome,
Almost as dark as coffee
I want her lean and sexy, flexible and fragile, gorgeous
Almost as skinny as chop- sticks
She wants him buff and kind
Warm and jolly, baby-maker
Almost sweeter than condensed milk
He wants her child-barer
Mother of his children, a home-buillder
Community-shaper,
Sharpener of his integrity
Almost wants her perfect

We are more complex
Than just sexual beings
Monogamists, polygamists, almost
Scientists of our own complexities
We dwell in thoughts that almost
Sharpen our minds
Reside ourselves in emotional turmoil’s that almost break us
We listen to meaningless gonging sounds that almost shut our ears forever
Making us turn a blind eye to what
Reveals the truth for us
And through these seasons of spoken word
We mention the reasons holding our complexities to a stand still
And like landscapes these have
A lifetime of stories to tell

 We are more complex
Than just sexual beings
We kneel down to utter prayers serenity o say:
"re utlwile, re tswile tseleng
Hobane lerato lapeng
Ha le sale teng"
Our forefathers never went to
Street coners, dug deep down their empty pockets and said to women mpheng
Infidelities back then where not a central problem
Hobane tlamano ene ele teng
But fok-fok relationships today
Rate people in statistics of vat n sit.

Look through my eyes
And see the dreams that keep me awake at night
Touch my hopeful soul
And grant me a bottle
Let me rub upon it so Genie grants me my endless wishes.

We are more complex than just sexual beings
Men are dazzled by beauties
Women are enticed by charms
Hopefuls fence their hearts so cupid is denied access
Bear as we expose our bosom to the stars
Stare as we are defined by the pursuit of sanity
Acquaint yourself with us to understand our school of thought
We are more complex
Than just sexual beings.
