The curtains open up Allowing the stage to be greeted by the audience It's time for the opening scene
Everything couldn't be more perfect
Except for one thing: the fact that you don't want to be seen, with me.
We've run through the lines many a time before
Behind closed curtains and locked doors.
We leave a window or two open, just to keep us breathing - keep us alive.

But never a door, lest they see you
Causing you to scurry off and hide. I don't quite comprehend.
I don't think we could possibly be more prepared
The dialogue is no longer contrived It comes naturally
Every word lingers on our lips As if to echo the true sentiments of our hearts So why the fear?

Why do you heed with caution?
Is it because I have yet to be something in this world, Something of prolific proportion?
Or is it your perception of me that you've been extorting? Only to find out the sad truth.
That I'm an amateur, with no credentials to boot Do I embarrass you? What is it?
Please tell me now.

Because it's time for the opening scene
Everything couldn't be more perfect
Except for one thing: the fact that you don't want to be seen, with me.
There's a full house tonight And contrary to what you may believe
This show was never for them No, this one was for you and me. - TBM
